The Flyers organization are proud to announce that we have auto protected forward Kam Thomas (2006) ahead of the 2022 MJHL Draft.
Thomas played minor hockey in his hometown of Winkler, MB before graduating to the U15 AAA Pembina Valley Hawks in 2020-21 where he spent one season before graduating to the U18 AAA Pembina Valley Hawks for the 2021-22 season where he scored 3 goals and 5 assists in 41 games played.
Flyers GM and Head Coach Justin Falk was very pleased with the auto-protect of Thomas “”We are excited to announce the auto-protect selection of Kam Thomas. With a foundation of work ethic and detail, Kam’s growth throughout the second half of the season was very similar to his play throughout our recent Pre-Draft Development Camp. As competition rose, so did Kam’s compete and tenacity. We look forward to watching Kam’s development as he understands the work ahead of him to become a Winkler Flyer.”
“It’s an honour to be protected by the Flyers. I’m super excited to be with an organization that has coaches and staff with such a high level of experience.” said Thomas about being auto protected by his hometown Flyers. “It’s very exciting to have the chance to potentially be a Flyer and play under multiple former NHL players.”
This announcement comes before the annual MJHL Draft which will take place Saturday June 4th at 3:00 pm. Keep up to date with the Flyers draft day selections by following all of our social media channels.
