Winkler Flyers Fall 3-1 To The Dauphin Kings

The Winkler Flyers dropped a tough 3-1 decision to the Dauphin Kings on Sunday, October 20, 2024, at the ICON Arena. Despite outshooting their opponents 34-31, Winkler couldn’t find the back of the net after Blake Matheson’s power-play goal midway through the first period. Dauphin capitalized on their opportunities, taking control in the second period and never looking back, while Winkler’s offence struggled to gain traction.

It was a physical contest, with both teams racking up penalty minutes, but the Flyers couldn’t take advantage of their special teams.

Now third in the MGEU East Division, the Flyers are set to embark on a demanding three-game road stretch over three days. They’ll face the Swan Valley Stampeders in back-to-back matchups on October 25 and 26, followed by a rematch against Dauphin on October 27. This stretch could prove critical for the Flyers as they look to bounce back.
